basque culinary center
Donostia 2015

Basque Culinary Centre beings together chefs from its International Council and its Board of Trustees to promote new projects.

The International Council will launch a platform to promote the new professional dimension of the contemporary chef.

Principal sponsors of the meeting of the International Council are the D.O. La Rioja, Silestone and Catalana Occidente.

The Basque Culinary Centre has brought together the International Council and chef members of the Board of Trustees of their Foundation with the aim of promoting new projects.

The members of the Council who participated this year were Ferran Adria, Enrique Olvera, Michael Bras, Gasto Acurio, Yukio Hattori and Joan Roca, in addition to those invited by the Council this year: Carlo Petrini (President of Slow Food International), Christian Puglisi (Denmark) and Dominique Crenn (USA).

Most outstanding among the projects based on the reflections of the encounter were, on the one hand, the creation of a platform to promote the new professional dimension of the chef. An initiative which will represent the creation of a web page, undertaking and organising workshops and seminars. It will involve documenting, selecting and communicating; it will serve to connect, to form a bridge, to foster synergies and make known all that is good within the culinary field, never as broad and exciting as now

Finally, the Council will be revived with new members. Honorary Board members will be appointed who will be made known after their approval by the Board of Trustees. The honorary members will also form part of the Council and will be able to attend meetings.
